We Didn't Invent This Pantry. We Inherited It.
Family Land in Jenin
Aziz's family has been bringing olive oil out of Jenin for more than thirty years. Long before there was a brand or a website, there were simply neighbors and cousins who wanted the same oil their own families back home would recognize. In 2020, Aziz and his wife Tala decided to carry that quiet, decades old habit into something more.
They named it Jenin, after the city itself, after the land both of their families come from, and after the spirit of the place. Steady. Rooted. Not easily moved.
Generations of Recipes
The olive oil is where it starts, but it was never only about the oil. Zaatar dried on rooftops. Sumac picked at exactly the right moment and never a day later. Wild sage gathered the way it has always grown, not the way a farm would prefer to grow it.
None of this is new. These are recipes and habits that belong to Jenin, carried by families who never stopped making them, season after season, the same way their parents did, and their parents before that.
Aziz's grandmother still picks her own olives every harvest, by hand, the same way she always has. Everything we make starts there, with her, before it starts with us.
Carrying It Forward
Every jar and bottle we send out still starts the same way it did in 2020, and the same way it did decades before that. With family. With land. With a harvest that cannot be rushed no matter how much anyone might want it to be.
We are not trying to modernize this pantry. We are trying to share it, exactly as it is, with anyone far from home who misses the taste of it, and with anyone who has never tasted it at all.
